Food Garden

Every Saturday from April through October, our garden team gathers from 9:00 to 11:00 AM to grow, maintain, and harvest fresh organic produce for SPR’s food pantry. Crops include beans, beets, celery, cucumbers, garlic, greens, lettuce, onions, radishes, tomatoes and turnips. All ages are invited to help with the garden, and no prior gardening experience is required! To get involved, contact garden team leader George Chlipala.

Since 2012, volunteers in the St. Paul & the Redeemer Food Garden have grown 1200 pounds of fresh organic produce each year for hungry neighbors on the South Side of Chicago. The weekend harvest is presented with the offerings at the Eucharist, then delivered to a nearby shelter for women and children.
