Christian M. Clough
Director of Music
Christian is originally from Hamilton, NY. He got his start playing music at his hometown parish, continued while a student at the University of Rochester, and then studied choral conducting and organ performance at the Yale Institute of Sacred Music. After working as music director at a parish in New Haven, he went back to Yale to get a master’s in liturgical studies. In addition to all of that, he loves to bike, cook, read, garden, and sing (not surprisingly.). He and his partner Christopher love to travel to Charleston, New England, and Europe, and they have an adorable cocker spaniel named Putney, whom you can usually find guarding the church office during the week.
The Reverend Daniel A. Puchalla (Dan)
Dan has been serving as a priest at SPR since 2011. He received his B.A. in religious studies at Stetson University in Florida and his M.Div. at the University of Chicago. He spent a hot minute as a Ph.D. student at Chicago Theological Seminary before realizing that his work-life balance needed readjusting. Nonetheless, he continues to read, teach, and write in theology, biblical hermeneutics, and spirituality as part of his work at SPR. Dan is originally from Lombard, IL, and grew up in a thoroughly Vatican II Roman Catholic household. He joined the Episcopal Church in 2006. He has a vision of the church as a place that stretches its arms wide to strangers and outcasts, nurtures life-changing friendships, cultivates transformative communion with God, and instigates unearthly peace and justice in its surrounding neighborhood and beyond. Dan is engaged to his boyfriend Raff, a J.D. and Ph.D. candidate in philosophy at Northwestern, and they plan to marry in May 2018. Dan loves to hike and camp in the mountainous west, is an avid theater-goer and Art Institute wanderer, professionally dabbles in graphic design, and is a big science nerd.
